WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW, WHY YOU SHOULD GO: NORMA JEAN

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW, WHY YOU SHOULD GO: NORMA JEAN

December 14, 2016. The Cabooze, Minneapolis MN

Add a little chaos to your Wednesday night.

I realize it's late notice, but do yourself a favor and come out to this show. Norma Jean has been one of my favorite bands since I was 15 years old. A rollercoaster of raw, pleading vocals sliced by razor-sharp guitars and then trampled by breakdowns. Norma Jean's formula is beautiful. It'll knee you in the face till you've just about had enough and then back off letting you collect yourself only to then throw you back into the chaos. I wish I could say you do the whole thing with a smile on your face, but that's not true. You get a fierce look in your eye, one that burns holes through walls.

The music has a way of pulling you in emotionally, making you feel connected. You channel all of your built-up anger and negativity and it pours out of you as you wage war on your vocal chords during the breakdowns.  //TONIGHT THE SOUTH IS ON FIRE//

The environment is positive and serves as a great release for whatever crumby shit you have going on in your life. Take out your aggression, but have respect for those around you. Everyone is there for you. If you get knocked down, you can always count on being picked up by the people around you. I guess you could say it's a safe space to be pissed.

Clench your fists, grit your teeth and get out there. Then go buy a t-shirt.
